MP Abdus Sattar Bhuiyan of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today called for the unconditional release of incarcerated party chairman Khaleda Zia for her therapy.

He spoke in parliament while participating in this evening's general budget debate for the 2018-19 fiscal year. Sattar claimed that Khaleda Zia's bail was not permitted "as part of state tricks."
He said Khaleda Zia was a victim of the ruling Awami League's political revenge, so she doesn't get bail in the situation.
He also requested that the "ghost cases" filed against the rulers and supporters of BNP across the nation be withdrawn.
He said prime minister Sheik Hasina assured them of withdrawing the ' ghost cases ' during a per-election dialog. But the instances against their names still occurred.
